Pregnancy Workouts – At Home

img_4972I don’t know about you, but sometimes I want to work out or exercise, but I just don’t feel like being seen or seeing anyone!

As some of you know, I’m pregnant with me and John’s first child. Whereas before my weekly exercise regimen consisted of multiple runs, gym workouts, and 3-4 hot yoga classes per week; I am listening to my body and slowing down now as I create a peaceful and healthy womb and “nest” for our little one.

Instead of running I am taking brisk 2-4 mile walks, only going to the gym 2-3 times per month (doing light cardio and small free weights), and one hot yoga class per week (during which I modify many of my poses).

I have recently discovered the joy of  at home workouts using an online program called Fitness Blender. A few friends of mine have told me about loving the chance to work out in their own living rooms to videos they stream from their smartphone onto their TV.

fullsizerenderOne friend who I consider to be a fitness guru, recommended that I try “Fitness Blender” workouts using You Tube. I did one that was about 25 minutes long in my living room and loved it. Again, being pregnant and knowing my body, I was able to modify certain aspects and get a lot out of it while not straining my pregnant body.

So – if you are looking for a way to build three 30-minute cardio workouts into your week, check out Fitness Blender videos on YouTube- I highly recommend them! These are great to do before work or when you get home from work – also great if you are traveling.

Let me know how Fitness Blender works out for you!

Blessings,

Kristen
